World Youth Skills Day is observed annually every 15th of July. The first World Youth Skills Day was celebrated in 2015 after the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution declaring 15th July as World Youth Skills Day. This day was set aside to highlight the opportunities and challenges that young people face in employment and the importance of youth skills development. This year in Kikuyu World Youth Skills was celebrated on Saturday 13th July where Discover Kikuyu organized a street event where youth from the community got an opportunity to showcase their skills and talents. It was a day of fun and activity that brought together young people in the community to network and exchange ideas with respect to youth skills development within our community. The event was supported by Kiambu County Government through the Sub County Administrator’s office and the office of the MP Kikuyu Constituency.
